The Club of Hue Traditional Singing

- Run by HCM Cultural Center.

FORMATION:

The Hue Traditional Singing Club was formed by Decree No.08/QD-TTVH October 16.2002 signed by Nguyen Van Sanh, Director of HCMC Cultural Center.

PURPOSES:

To collect, develop and write forms of Hue Traditional Songs.
To conduct performances, discussion and introducing songs written by club members and outside song writers as well.
To conducte discussion sessions, training courses for those interested.
To conduct performances in various places as requested by HCMC Cultural Center.

ACTIVITIES:

Oct.18,2002: inauguration performance at HCMC Cultural Center.
Nov.03,2002: performance at Binh Phuoc province people's Council Guest house.
Dec.11,2002: performance in honor of 9th Anniversary of UNESCO'S acknowledgement of Hue as a world cultural heritage (televised and emitted by VTV & HTV).
Mar.26,2003: Joint performance with Northern Traditional Singing Club Ca Tru of Hung Vuong University at the Youth Cultural House in memory of the 72th Anniversary of the Communist Youth Organization formation (televised and emitted by VTV).
Jun.01,2003: Talk on "From Hue Culture to Hue Singing" by Hue researcher Nguyen Dac Xuan at HCMC Cultural Center.
Oct.19,2003: Performance in honor of the Club's First Anniversary.
Dec.26,2003: Performance in memory of the 10th Anniversary of UNESCO'S acknowledgement of Hue as a world cultural heritage and Hue Royal Court Music as an intangible heritage of humanity (televised and emitted by VTV & HTV).
Mar.28,2004: Joint performance with Country Singing Club - at Laborer's Cultural House.
